2023 James Eunice Legacy 5K Overall and Age Group Winners<\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div>

2023 James Eunice Legacy 5K<\/h1>\n

The 12th Annual James Eunice Legacy 5K was held the morning of April 8, 2023. Ryan Kelly and Tamara Martin finished as the top male and female runners in the event. Ryan was the top overall finisher and Tamara was the fifth overall finisher. And a big shout out and thanks to Keith Sirmans and Jack's Chophouse for providing gift certificates to present to Ryan and Tamara. 45 runners completed the event along with seven virtual entrants. We've shared thru the years about the amazing group of volunteers who have helped us along the way with the various events as we share James' story and legacy. This race completed the James Eunice Legacy 5K story and closes a chapter that began in 2012.<\/p>\n

The Kappa Alpha fraternity at Valdosta State University approached us in 2012 about helping sponsor the race and partnering with us. The first year featured the 1st Annual James<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Eunice Legacy 5K and Chili Cookoff. Everyone soon realized that a 5K and chili don't go well together, especially at 8 AM. The KA's wisely dropped the chili cookoff portion of the event, but were steadfast partners for the life of the event. The fact wrapped up 2023 just made it even a little more special. And as special treat, the two officers from the Valdosta Police Department who provided coverage for the event, jogged across the line last in a ceremonial finish. One of them was a classmate of James.
